Mr Trump - All discussion here

What I find intriguing is what kind of a person can continue to support Trump while fully aware of his character, or rather lack thereof.

It's a matter of record that Trump is a liar, a racist, a misogynist, someone who mocks the disabled, a man who insulted a genuine American war hero whilst draft dodging himself, a man who encouraged an insurrection against his own country's government, a felon convicted of falsifying business records and  found guilty of rape. . https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/07/19/trump-carroll-judge-rape/

No one is perfect, there isn't an adult human being on the planet that hasn't erred in some way or other in their lives, but Trumps behaviour is way over the top. Even his own mother wasn't overly impressed with him.

So, what sort of person thinks he's okay and acceptable as President of the most powerful country in the world and one that impacts the UK?

Do they believe that right and wrong don't matter? Are they that lacking in morals themselves that they see no problem with his behaviour? Are they unable to assess others characteristics and simply believe everything they're told if the person comes across as a larger than life character?

If any of those are the case I can't help wondering what kind of personal lives they must have led. Being able to suss out con merchants and the untrustworthy is part of our self protection ability.

Obviously there's another explanation, the wind up merchant who doesn't actually support Trump, just likes to keep the pot boiling for their own amusement.

You're entitled to your opinion of course.

Not only are Fox News reporting along the same lines of the information I posted above, but they're also reporting that people from the Trump campaign have told them that they do not believe this was an assassination attempt:

A source close to the Trump campaign also told Fox News's Bill Melugin, and another told Fox News' Bryan Preston, that they do not believe this was an assassination attempt on Trump.

I think that's related to one of your other points.  There are a lot of angry and bitter people out there, disappointed with their own lives and eager to not only blame others for their woes but to make others' existence as miserable as their own, especially if those people are the ones they blame or the ones they envy.

Then again, some people are just terrible human beings.

Trump is now claiming that Kamala Harris is providing illegal immigrants with an app which allows them to press a button and receive assistance in entering the US and being settled in specific areas.  They tried to make out that Biden wasn't fit to run the country and in fairness may have had a point but Trump is way past that now, he's totally lost the plot.

Only a complete idiot would give him any credence.

Which is a problem, because as Albert said human stupidity is infinite.
