Jared Omara MP ..

Message added by nikki-red

We understand that this is an emotive subject, and discussing the facts is totally fine.
Posting insults is not.
Jared is local to us, and could well be a member of the forum, we dont allow name calling and insults on other threads and they arent acceptable on this one either.

Moral compass v pockets full of brass, I think we can guess  which the MP has chosen, up to now anyway.  Why have his constituents not enacted this legislation,

The Recall of MPs Act 2015 (c. 25) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom that makes provision for constituents to be able to recall their Member of Parliament (MP) and call a by-election. ... Successful petitions force the recalled MP to vacate the seat, resulting in a by-election.

Because none of the conditions applicable under this Act apply to Jared.

He has not been convicted of a criminal offence resulting in a prison sentence, he has not been suspended by the House of Commons and he has not been convicted of making false expense claims.

Neither has he represented his constituents as he is required to do so.

But thats not grounds to recall him unfortunately.

A custodial prison sentence of a year or less—longer sentences automatically disqualify MPs without need for a petition;

Suspension from the House of least 10 sitting days or 14 calendar days, following a report by the Committee on Standards;

A conviction for providing false or misleading expenses claims.

I draw your attention to the last line, would you think not representing his constituents might involve the above. What is he actually doing to receive wages and expenses.

He has not been convicted though.  Don't know how easy it would be to get him on this, but if someone thinks they can prove it they could fund a private prosecution (doubt SY police will be interested in doing any investigation).

Even a private prosecution needs permission to proceed, and no-one is going to allow that kind of joke case.

Unless there is actual evidence of false claims (which I don't think there's been any accusations of) ??

Surely, you can understand basic English.

Read it again. Then move on to another thread instead of writing rubbish on this one.
