Refund from gym membership

We joined a gym in the new year, but we stopped going after we had the gym induction.

 

Does anyone know if we are entitled to a refund?

 

Or if not a refund do gyms allow you to have an additional 12 months?

 

Has anyone managed to get their fees refunded?

I did.

 

After the gym management refused to refund my fees (and why would they, I signed a 12-month contract after all) I threatened to name & shame on this 'ere Sheffield Forum.

 

The gym management not only refunded my fees but also provided an additional 6-months of their premium gym membership for nowt, which includes full body massages by a traditional Japanese geisha, and meals prepared by a Michelin chef of no less than 3-stars.

There's usually a statutory cooling-off period too.
