hillsbro
I was only 11 at the time of the shootings but it was headline news for a long time and I remember it very clearly. In 1975 I worked with Gilbert Robertson (1921-87) who was the unarmed policeman who had confronted Ismail in the toilets and disarmed him. I always thought that Gilbert deserved a B.E.M. or some other medal for this, but he didn't get anything.
NorrisHill
I think 5 men were shot, two killed, about 1962. I knew the two brothers Don( severely disabled by the wounds) and Michael McFarlane (killed)- . The gunman was a mentally-ill Somali, after serving a sentence here he went back to Somalia and did the same again!
