mickey finn
You couldn't make it up:suspect: Or could you? I thought that Hendo was made by L and P, shipped to sheffield and then diluted with Don water to give it that distinctive taste. It was never the same since they stopped letting it ferment down the inside of the Tinsley idiot cooling towers.

Ontarian1981
If the scope of the thread includes all of Yorkshire then there are several possibilities like Doncaster Butterscotch, Pontefract cakes (liquorice)Bridlington or Scarborough rock etc etc. Going back to Sheffield, no one has mentioned Batchelors, who have far more food products than just peas. InigoMontoya
Do they still make Pukka pies in Rotherham? And KP nuts? On their factory on Eastgate it used to say "This is the home of Britains number one nut." Not sure if they meant the product or someone that worked there... Pukka Pies are based in Syston, Leicestershire (Didn't Fletchers bakers subcontract and bake bread for Warburton's for years?)

Ontarian1981
Batchelors. No longer exist in Sheffield. The factory closed in 1982,over 600 people lost their jobs Didn't know that I left in 1981. I know they still exist though, because a mate of mine works for Campbells soup over here and they do orders to export to Batchelors, I just assumed Sheffield.
