medusa
I grew up with Heinz Wolff and Professor Ian Fells (who hails from Sheffield but has been teaching at Newcastle University for many years) presenting science topics on TV and making so much of science more accessible and exciting. I'm not sure that I would have gone on to be a scientist without them, and for that they both have my eternal gratitude.

wornout53
Amazing man......a genius who could put science across in a way that was interesting and inspiring. If there were more like him and the late Magnus Pyke more youngsters might discover that science is enjoyable R.I.P
