RiffRaff
Just seen on the Beeb, recordings of three 'emergency' 'phone requests to the Police 999 service... One bloke asking if Asda was open; a woman stating that there was a cat which wouldn't move from outside her door, and another female complaining that her mother's hairdresser had used the wrong colour. How are these people so dim?! Frightening, really...
GreyhoundMum
I always think we should remove the warning labels and let natural selection take its course!!!! Beggers belief the things people will use an emergency number for
RJRB
Some are thoughtless, some are not very bright, but they all rank higher than those who create malicious false alarms.

RiffRaff
Did any receive a fine for their acts? Nope. They're simply advised that they're possibly blocking a legitimate emergency call, and "put right". As far as I know, no further action is taken. ll49
It’s the same with A&E, some people forget it stands for Accident & Emergency and seem to think it stands for anything and everything when they’re sat in there because they’ve got a splinter, or sprained their ankle. It’s a complete waste of the NHS’s time and money and could very easily prevent them from saving someone’s life. I think people who waste the emergency services time, whether it be a stupid call to 999, a hoax call getting the fire brigade out or blocking A&E unnecessarily should all be heavily fined! They’d think twice before they did it again.
