blake
with the opening up to the Israelis from the Saudis and the rest of the Gulf Arabs, or at least most of them because Qatar is not playing ball, it's tempting to think of it as being a totally unexpected development. It seems so very surprising. But it's not actually all that unexpected. The Saudis and the UAE etc have been looking over at the Israelis for 20-30 years and thinking to themselves hang on a minute, maybe this lot are OK. It's not because they are being 'leaned on', by the US or anything like that. It's because some of them have started to think that maybe yes there is, a place for Jews in the Middle East. And that is very good news for Israel. Edited May 22, 2018 by blake
Jeffrey Shaw
2017 The United Nations has denounced recent Israeli initiatives to accelerate settlement construction in occupied Palestinian territory, stressing that "unilateral actions" are an obstacle to peace based on a two-state solution. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/01/condemns-huge-israeli-settlement-plan-170125041616025.html Tell us: do the stone/bomb-throwing rioters wish to have a Two State Solution? [A: No, just a Final one for their victims. Of whom was that wish also true? Ah, yes, I remember...]

Jeffrey Shaw
I like that 'separate dancing' note- which rather suggests the likelihood of it being a hoax.
blake
yeah the seperate dancing is funny but doesn't necessarily mean it is a hoax. It is meant to be funny. Same sex dancing is the norm in Muslim cultures anyway. Unmarried women are not even supposed to be seen dancing in front of anybody it is possible for them to marry and is not one of their family or a female friend. ENG601PM
I'm sure that everyone will be pleased to hear that the dead baby is no longer on the list of those killed by Israeli security. The 53 terrorists are though.
blake
yes. As far as I understand it, the baby's name has been transferred from the list of child victims of barbaric IDF brutality, to the list of children denied medical treatment in Israel, and who died as a result. bit of an improvement I suppose. Usually they keep the names on both of the lists, to be on the safe side.
ENG601PM
Alternatively Palestinians could go to Egypt for treatment instead of the power struggle between Fatah and Hamas dictating who gets treatment in Israeli hospitals.
blake
why would the Palestinians want to go to other Arabs to get medical treatment, when they have to pay for it. In Israel, it's free.
