Sea levels are rising

Recommended Posts

The sea is not rising period - it's called a lie.

Has anyone noticed in their life the sea has risen?

Of course not!

Do you really think Everton would build a new stadium on the banks of the Mersey if this hoax was real?

Wake up.

I know you're just trolling, but for avoidance of doubt, the average long term trend of sea level rise around the UK is 1.4±0.2mm per year.

Of course you aren't going to notice a 1.4mm annual sea level rise.

Not really sure what he is.

Al Gore was selected as the Democratic nominee for the 2000 presidential election and he is a rich successful person; he also received the Nobel Peace Prize. He also went to Harvard.

In his senior year, he took a class with oceanographer and global warming theorist Roger Revelle, who sparked Gore's interest in global warming and other environmental issues. Gore earned an A on his thesis, "The Impact of Television on the Conduct of the Presidency, 1947–1969", and graduated with an A.B. cum laude in June 1969.

Not sure who Harold Doiron is, a search of Wiki came up blank, except links to fake news sites, such as

Credibility goes through the window:hihi:

Then you're pretty poor at googling.

And your results are?

No, its true. Ever filled a bath and then got in and seen the water level go up?

The sea is the same.

In the old days there weren't so many big cruise and container ships like there are now. And more people go sea swimming than in the past. Ipso fatso.

Not as many fish/whales in our oceans, we catch 118 millions of tonnes of fish per year.

But that is another problem, there are fewer and fewer left.

With an average increase of 1.4mm as claimed - then how does that figure add up to the potential two metre rise by 2100 as claimed in the BBC link?

10 years at an average increase of 1.4mm is just over one centimetre every decade! So around 11 cms only, hardly 200 cms as claimed.

Do your sums and stop believing their claims.

It's all they are - claims.

The idea that a football club building a stadium somewhere is proof that sea levels aren't rising. Well, I don't know what to say. Hilarious perhaps.

They're quite clearly saying that the rate is increasing and will continue to do so.

It's really not that hard to work out.

The 1.4mm a year is the historic sea level rise.

The predicted sea level rise takes into account a much larger amount of ice loss, and so the annual increase will be higher.

2m rise by 2100 is at the top end of the scale. Most projections indicate a 1m rise by the end of the century.
