Sea levels are rising

Recommended Posts

Which article specifically do you mean?

However, the report stresses that the inundation does not result from rising sea levels alone.

It found that shoreline recession was substantially worse in areas exposed to high wave energy, and that extreme events and inappropriate development were also factors contributing to the erosion.

The Solomon Islands, a nation made up of hundreds of islands and with a population of about 640,000, lies about 1,000 miles north-east of Australia.

Any facts you like, but not fake ones. ;) Who can spot the difference?

Me neither.

So that report says that islands are lost to a combination of sea level increasing and coastal erosion. Okay, fair enough.

That doesn't alter anything about other predictions for an accelerated trend in sea level rising, ultimately resulting in fairly large increases in sea level which would potentially flood large populated areas of the world.

Weren't they worrying, a while ago, about Doncaster being on the coast?

Imagine: "Yes, we're going to Doncaster-on-Sea for our holiday this year."

If Gore was to be believed it would have been Hillfoot Bridge by the sea, get the canoe ready were going to Morrisons.

The title of the thread is 'sea level rise'; many have discussed climate change before. Anyone that is not prepared/able to search for the correct facts, will not be persuaded way or the other by posts on here.

Nice to have a chat, but a climate change crusade seems futile.

Sheffield had its own flooding, I assume you class that as normal weather; and not a sign of more extreme weather - as climate change predicted.

Quite normal as its happened in the past, thankfully not very often.

I know you have already made your mind up, but ...

Extreme heatwaves and heavy rain storms are already happening with increasing regularity worldwide because of man-made climate change, according to new research.

They always have what caused the Sheffield flood of 1856 or hot Wednesday 1808 or the freezing cold 1768, climate change?
