What is equality to you?

Exchanging one form of discrimination for another is still discrimination.  It's still wrong.

But as these 'positive' schemes have been devised by the racist wealthy middle-class, we know the intent is NOT to create a balance.

"And then there’s all the evidence that it is the white middle class who are making the decisions that result in structural barriers to equality. After all, it’s not the white working class making hiring decisions that mean it takes black graduates months longer to get a job than their white counterparts. It certainly wasn’t the white working class who came up with racist policies like the hostile environment or austerity, which has disproportionally affected the poorest women of colour."

If we truly wish to tackle discrimination, we must remove the wealthy middle class from ALL positions of authority in society.

That's just plain silly. Because Theresa May and a few other wealthy people implemented the hostile environment and austerity, not all wealthy would do the same.

Many pieces of equality legislation  have been advocated by wealthy middle class people. A recent example is Harriet Harman's championing of the Equality Act, and because of this she faced a fair bit of discrimination and nastiness herself in the press.

The wealthy white middle class are not a part of the solution to creating an equal society.

So, essentially, there must be some discrimination to achieve equality!

Weird, 'cos when that was suggested as a way to combat racism you were up in arms about it :suspect:

Astutely observed. He's shot himself right in the foot there.

What you mean is you CAN'T illustrate it because no distinction exists.

It's been illustrated and explained multiple times.  You can lead a horse to water...  But you're willfully refusing to drink.

But it should be. As I said before two wrongs don't make a right.

So you advocate for the status quo, which you admit is wrong.

Well... he was up in arms about it when it was a thread about the BBC, when it's Brexit and the racist/xenophobic leave campaign he's quiet as a mouse.

For Car Boot, racism and the inequality it brings are fine when it suits :?

Sadly he's not alone. There were some on here who, when asked about their thoughts on the leave campaigns as described above, claimed it never happened!
