I think we're vering into Art vs Porn here, which has always been a contentious issue. Context is important. There's a place for Art and a place for Porn, and most people acknowledge the boundaries.

 

The human body can be very beautiful, both male and female. But that beauty can just 'be,' or be 'used' for different purposes. Titillation is one of them, and that is very borderline.

 

Would a man like to enter an all female workplace, to be confronted with pictures of full frontal, large and erect, gorgeous male Adonis, that the women drool over, and weigh him up against?

I hope you don't mean the pictures of hunky firemen stripped off etc, which, nice as they are, are not really in the same league. A bare chested man is acceptable, you see them everywhere, even walking down the street, but a bare chested woman in this context would get arrested.

 

That's why I specified the nether regions on display, and the size (you don't get many flat chested female pin ups I'm afraid.) That's a more equal example I think. And I don't think many men would like the comparison to be honest.

Read a piece today about a grammer school in Guernsey.

 

The Headteacher, (who expressed the point that she was a Headteacher & not a Headmistress), decided to scrap the roles of Head Boy & Head Girl as she 'Felt the labels implied that gender was why people got the position, when it ought to go to the “best person” for a job.' These roles have been replaced with Chairperson & Vice-chairperson who lead a leadership team of 3 other pupils. All 5 roles are voted for by the pupils themselves.

 

Guess what? The pupils voted for boys to be Chairperson & Vice-chairperson, while the minor roles went to girls.

 

Something tells me this is not exactly what the Headteacher was after & she appears to now have created an equality imbalance that previously didn't exist?

 

A bit more social experimental tinkering on the Headteacher's part is now required methinks?
