autumn
My son has been on my insurance for the past 4 years . Last year he received a speeding fine while driving a rental car in Switzerland . It was a very minimal fine as was only over 1% over the limit . My renewal has just come through and I was going to get him taken off my insurance but when I phoned they only reduced my premium by £70 . If I keep him on do I have to inform the insurance company ,does it make a big impact on policy price having had a speeding fine in another country .He doesn't have any points on his licence ! I don't want to discuss this with an insurance company until I get a basic idea of what the procedure is . Thanks in advance !

I don't recall the details, but when I had the same issue my google searches suggested that yes you do have to, though its not possible via online insurance applications (which only have an option to declare uk licence speeding points).
