No more walk-on models at the Darts

Recommended Posts

I bet the young kids have seen more on the beach and round the pool in the Canaries and Majorca..

again that doesnt make an excuse, maybe so but do people really want it in their living room where little johnny can see it all the time too?

Its gonna be a very grey, sterile world if the tide of the terminally offended keep getting their way.

Come on, who really is 'terminally offended' by this?

Any sport that wants to retain any credibility needs to concentrate on the sport itself.

What is the point of having walk-on models in darts?

You just need to read the comments on this to work out what some people really think or get out of it.

I agree with Halibut, absolutely pointless in having this in today's age- it just shows women are treated like commodities. There to be used by these companies for the entertainment and joy of men.

Does nothing to empower women, on the contrary it weakens them and displays them as nothing more than bargaining chips.

Does employment not empower women

See what all the time ?

Johnny can wear dresses himself these days if he wants to :suspect:

The sport will be fine without them, but if this sort of thing becomes the norm and other sports and events where girls are employed as glamour models do the same, then they will lose the opportunity to earn in the line of work they have chosen.

what i read, they want it to be for more family viewing, should we contintue sexualising young kids who happen to watch and see scantily clad ladies.

How do you get more ladies into the sport when they switch it on they see scantily clad ladies and not into that type of thing?

How do you progress the sport when its living in the past? shouldnt the powers that be be looking to the future?

I know of ladies who wouldn't read The Sun or allow it in the house due to page 3, yet they were quite happy to watch porn films.

They didn't see the need for nude women to promote a product or act as an enticement to a product, exactly as in the case of "eye candy"

Has anyone actually asked any of the women involved in this work how they feel about it, the two I know are appalled and one (who does mostly snooker promotional work) has even started an online petition against it, its quite staggering reading through this thread what people get wound up about.

Unfortunately that's the way of the world, you'll find similar stories for many occupations that are no longer sought after.

Your right of course, there are many things that change, some for the better some for the worse, some for the sake of it, it's all about opinion on here and I'm sure you will have argued against other issues trivial or non so which fall under the 'that's the way of the world' umbrella ;)

Then they should control their childs viewing habits.

Being a bad parent doesn't mean everyone else should suffer.
