SnailyBoy
Typists were made redundant by advances in techonology ie word processers etc, totally different concept. But the typists also had tradition and lost their work, which could have been used as a justification to retain their work, same as the walk-on models. Both occupations were affected by business decisions. So for you, why is it a justification for the models, but not the typists?
ENG601PM
95% of the people who are pretending to be offended by it won't ever watch or pay to watch darts live or on TV. It's likely that they are A OK with watching Ariana Grande with their 8 year old though. I'd feel a bit sheepish watching this soft porn with my mum today! Michael_W
No, I'm still struggling. Can you explain the irony in what I posted? Irony is you making statements like 'that's the way of the world' on a discussion forum, but I'll bet you would not accept that generic 'shutdown' if it were made (and it could be) on just about every thread/discussion/debate/argument on here or elsewhere Your point about typists is irrelevant because we are not discussing typists, typists were not pressured out of work by society pandering to pc/feminist ideology. The fact is darts (and some other sports) is seen as male dominated, on TV at the big tournaments the crowds are mostly male and the players are too, so in those environments, the feminists and such see women in short dresses as being sexualised and objectified ...... oh no they cry, it's just not on ! Of course in non male dominated environments it's absolutely fine If the Libtards are going to see everything in that way why not push to separate the sexes again, different school playgrounds, maybe different schools, appropriate clothing and attitudes, maybe we should re-introduce those Victorian values and go full circle again ..... men look at women shock Edited January 31, 2018 by Michael_W

At best you could claim is hypocrisy, but then you'd have to find evidence where i wouldn't accept a 'that's the way of the world' response. So, over to you, get searching. They lost work due to a business decision, they weren't pressured out of it. Exactly the same as typists would have done, back in the day.

A comparable example would be typists at a law firm being made redundant as companies client said they would not do business with them whilst they employed women typists. I don't really have a view - but your comparison is wrong.
SnailyBoy
This analogy is wrong. A comparable example would be typists at a law firm being made redundant as companies client said they would not do business with them whilst they employed women typists. I don't really have a view - but your comparison is wrong. The analogy was based on the petition that was raised by one the walk-on models, which stated that 'tradition' and 'losing work' was a justification to reverse the decision. #207 I suggested that back in the day, the same justification could have been used for typists. So why in this case is it different? Edited January 31, 2018 by SnailyBoy
