El Cid
I hope not. I spent too much time being educated in portacabins with a mobile paraffin heater and buckets under the leaks because of public sector inefficiencies back in the 70's and 80's. Kids don't deserve that. That is because the Governments didn't want to pay the money to fix them. Nothing to do with public/private.
Fudbeer
I thought that this information might be available, but I can't find it. Pension deficit is around £380m. Net debt is £1.1bn They have serious issues by expanding to fast and taking on massive debt. The new guy is doing the right thing by lowering debt with the rights issue and stopping the dividend and it should make them stronger when its all done. However the directors have some serious questions to answer about letting the company get this bad.(which if course they will probably never answer)

That's because all the money was going out in public sector wages and inefficiencies. Baron99
Looks like they've overstretched themselves with too many acquisitions? Capita also has a possible problem with the fact that many of their contracts are up for renewal. If you were a local authority or other public body, wouldn't you think twice about paying them many millions if not billions to run your services, when they may go bust? http://www.independent.co.uk/news/business/analysis-and-features/capita-shares-profit-warning-carillion-private-firm-contractor-government-what-does-it-do-explainer-a8187451.html
