A night giving the stage over to a whole host of local musicians. Expect beautiful ballads right through to burning Be-Bop; meaningful Mainstream to mad Modal; furious Funk to the frightfully Free; lively Latin to luscious Lounge; and classic Cool through to the curiously Contemporary! 8.30pm, free entry. Wednesday 7th February: Quiz Night The highly irreverent Quiz is every Wednesday at The White. Hosted by the inimitable Mr Bling, you and your team must overcome 3 rounds of general knowledge, an audio round and a picture round in order to claim the prize. Throw into the mix some random challenges, spot prizes, lashings of real ale and a completely free buffet with veggie, vegan and gluten-free options and you're onto a winner. 9pm, 50p entry Thursday 8th February: Jam Night Hosted by Sheffield legend Chris Firminger and backed by his regular house band The TwoJays, this evening provides a platform for musicians from all over Sheffield and further afield. Renowned for the musicians it attracts, the Thursday Jam sees regular attendance and performance from the likes of Julian Jones, The Carnival, Open Jaw Fayre, The Crashers, Grave Danger, Fahrenheit, Vamp and many more. Full backline and P.A. provided, come watch or join in. 8.30pm, free entry Friday 9th February: The Julian Jones Band Julian returns to The White Lion for his annual gig at his local pub. With his country tinged stylings, Julian and his full band present a unique sound of melodic music, accompanied with thought provoking lyrics from three original solo albums of the last 8 years along with brand new songs on the night. 9.30pm, free entry Saturday 10th February: Do$ch Dosch supply their own brand of "high energy" British R&B, and have played alongside such legends as Dr. Feelgood, Mick Pini, The Wilko Johnson Band & Dumpy's Rusty Nuts. R.J.Greaves of Blues in Britain Magazine rated their album Money to Burn, 9/10, and recommended, "a great act to catch live." 9.30pm, free entry Sunday 11th February: The Sunday Jam Session Hosted by The Carnival, the Sunday afternoon rock jam is back once again - 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
