From the Guardian online Senators passed legislation on Wednesday that will change the second line of the anthem from “in all thy sons command” to “in all of us command”. Once the legislation is given royal assent by the governor general, the tweak will become law. Do you agree with it or do you, like me feel it is a pointless virtue signalling move to appease a very noisy minority? Below is the bit that apparently needs changing... O Canada! Our home and native land! True patriot love in all thy sons command. The bill changes the phrase "in all thy sons command" to "in all of us command." Whats you view? Well that's just overt the top. Regarding national anthems I just heard Germany may be considering a change in theirs. Apparently some people want to remove the word Fatherland from the anthem. Looks like this could have a little something too do with that War on men Halibut was banging on about in that thread he posted a little while ago.
