melthebell
Retep was looking at the ongoing cuts in our armed services, nothing humorous about that due to the threat from Russia who have just stated on TV how they have a massive nuclear arsenal and are not to be messed with. If they keep assassinating people on our soil then what is the answer to that is more to the point. Personally i think nothing can be done, really. are we still a great power? nope will our friends in nato stand by us in an event of war? im not so sure? do we have a massive military might? not really, not like it was and certainly not as big as russias. we either turn a blind eye, or risk starting war with russia, both are scary options

Take some of Putin's mates money off them and make them angry with him? Sanctions which affect the ordinary Russians and make them dissatisfied with Putin? Because otherwise you are right. We can't exactly fight Russia on our own. I'm not so sure about NATO solidarity either, especially as Putin controls a lot of the gas supply to Europe. Also and not to be ignored, the Russians are capable of ruthlessness to a degree which we in the softer part of Europe aren't used to any more. Yeah but even if we did that, they could push, then we push, then they push
spilldig
I would advise people to look in an atlas at the vast difference in size between the UK and Russia and that may indicate why they aren't really botherd about anything we have to say. Back in the real world, not much we can do to Russia is there, unless the Donald stands firm behind us, hopefully that might bring Putin to the table. Angel1. Andbreathe
Russians love our very posh schools, our ”London” property, our lucrative football clubs...pull the plug on the lot. On second thoughts that would take a massive turnaround from our perfectly elected elite who are on the Russian bandwagon. London is nothing more than a den of thieves...while we’re at it kick the Saudis out too...
retep
Poking the bear will only bring grief, those that are poking it should be the first to face it, it seems like the next proxy war may be on our shores.
Bob Arctor
what do you suggest we do? The thing that would most tick Putin off is if the UK government invested massively in renewable energy.
hobinfoot
I've no doubt retaliation will be carried out in the shadows and the rest of us will never hear of it.
