Top Cats Hat
do you really think they used their real names and passports? What nobody seems to realise is that the fact that their passport numbers were sequential not only shows that they were false names but more importantly, ONLY THE RUSSIAN STATE can provide new, sequential passports like that which is evidence that they were working for state security as opposed to being rogue agents moonlighting. janie48
not really, do you really think they used their real names and passports? When they appeared on Russian TV with an implausible story of being tourists viewing the Cathedral I was suspicious, but saw no reason to be certain they were concealing their true identity without someone recognising who they were. Now that the true identity of one of them has been revealed I wouldn't be at all surprised if other details were being kept secret.
Top Cats Hat
ive not seen both passports close up tbh to notice lol Not only were these passports sequentially numbered but were apparently part of a batch of sequential passport numbers issued to others suspected of being GRU agents. If so, that is a massive blunder by the Russian intelligence agency. All modern immigration systems scan and log passport details in their own databases. That makes it incredibly easy for any state where those passports were used, to look for trends. If a batch of Russian passports numbered 71 1232845 to 71 1232855 contained the two Skripal dudes and two other known GRU agents then we most likely have the passport numbers of six other agents and therefore their cover names if they ever travel outside Russia. Amateur in the extreme!!

Amateur in the extreme!! Why would this info be released into the public domain, thus letting the GRU know they had made a big mistake. They could then issue new passports to their agents.....new names and non sequential numbers?
