Theatre Royal Tudor/Arundel Street

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to find out when the Theatre Royal, which stood at the junction of Tudor Street and Arundel Street ( now in front of The Crucible) was demolished.

I know it was destroyed by fire but the shell of the building was still standing in December 1935. How soon after was it demolished?

According this on Picture Sheffield it was 1936:

I have reason to doubt that information or to seek a more accurate date which is why I'm asking. Since I made the original post I've got a bit more information which means I can ask the question "Was it stll standing in March 1936?"

Trying to save myself a trip to the archives really.
