Pensioner, 78, arrested on suspicion of murder after suspected burglar

Yes he should, that's how it works when you kill someone. You're arrested, the police investigate, the CPS assess the file, and then charges are either brought against you or they aren't.

There is no scenario where the police decide for themselves not to arrest.

ALL CHARGES DROPPED against 78-year-old man who stabbed burglar

Police have announced that a 78-year-old man who stabbed a burglar in London will face no further action.

There’s not much we can say about this other than the fact that we are delighted that common sense has prevailed on this occasion.

There has been an outpouring of support for Richard Osborn-Brooks ever since the news became public a few days ago.

The Sun is reporting:

A PENSIONER arrested after a serial burglar was stabbed to death in his home will face no further action.

Henry Vincent, 38, died after suffering a stab wound during the botched burglary on 78-year-old Richard Osborn-Brooks’ home in South East London.

Police today confirmed the OAP would face no further action after he was arrested on suspicion of murder on Wednesday.

The Sun revealed Vincent is a career criminal who targets elderly people – carrying out a spate of break-ins on the homes of vulnerable victims.

Vincent was arrested and still under investigation over a distraction burglary in which a box of jewellery was stolen from a man in his 70s last November.

He was named by Kent cops in connection with that crime along with an accomplice who was also allegedly with him when he broke into the home of retired RAC worker Mr Osborn-Brooks.

Good news that all charges have been dropped but no doubt he will be looking over his shoulder for the rest of his life while the low life's family will be taking advantage by selling their story to the gutter press.

Who will buy it, only for their readers to buy the paper - or view the website.

I hope the scummy family use this tragedy as an opportunity to mend their ways. They won't in all probability though.
