Duke of Edinburgh has hip replacement surgery

Recommended Posts

A report in todays Times informs us that the Duke of Edinburgh has been suffering with a worn out hip for a month and has been admitted to Hospital straight away so as he can have an operation to replace the troublesome problem.

In our neck of the woods we have folk waiting three weeks to even see a doctor so as to get an appointment at hospital for X ray and assessment.

After various further appointments at the hospital ( as long as the doctors at the surgery don't forget to send in the information required to various hospital departments )our ex Steel workers, building workers , cutlery lasses along with many more trades where knees and hips have worn out through sheer hard work finally may get an appointment to have an operation .

This post is based on fact as my other half as been waiting since last October for a knee replacement ,along the way appointments have been cancelled ,notes lost and sent to wrong departments and even in one case the wrong hospital .

So it seems as though as far as the haves and have not's are concerned it is one rule for one and one for the others.

Nah, working-class Sheffielders draw the line at purchasing their council house at a big discount.

We'd never betray the wishes of our ancestors by avoiding the NHS and paying for private healthcare. Plus we're too tight to pay for it as well.
