Regardless of the reason and even if Russia and Syria were preventing inspection (unlikely by the way despite what the Government tell the bbc to tell you) we dont have the proof to take just one innocent life let alone the 1000s that will likely die if a full scale war erupts in Syria.

Conspiracy theory seems to have gone totally mainstream now. There was a Labour MP on the Daily Politics today basically saying that there is a possibility that the chemical attack could have been staged by the rebels in Syria to draw the west in.

Because it is a normal weapon for the Assad regime. The Americans believe he has used chemical weapons at least 50 times during the civil war.
