solero
it's not always the music but the way they go about their work. bluesman Lowell Fulson turned up to do a Sunday afternoon matinee at the Leadmill sometime in the mid 80s. Performed a brilliant set with a pick up band and then afterwards, we spotted him just place his guitar on the back seat of an empty car, get in on the driver's side, and head up to Newcastle where he had a better paying gig that night with a bigger band and a brass section. Fulson was about 65 years old at the time. I was glad to catch harmonica ace Charlie Musselwhite down the Queens Rd Working Man's Club around 1991 too. Evei
I've been to some memorable gigs, but I'm not a fan of large gigs. My favourite: Oasis- Maine Road Pantera - Apollo Desmond Decker- Leadmill Skin - Leadmill The Skin one was great, it was a Sunday night and not many people were there but she still gave it her all and got down from the stage and sang amongst the crowd

Suffragette1
Prince, O2 Arena, 2007 I saw Prince live, in the 90s, and the experience really put me off him. His ego certainly makes up for his small stature, he came on late and did a very short set (no pun intended) which was definitely not worth the astronomical cost of the ticket. Titanic99
Many years ago I worked as a Steward so I've seen many a gig. Those that stand out for good reasons are: Stranglers (classic songs) Pogues (full bottle of whisky reduced to nothing) Anthrax (absolute nutters that watched them) Tom Jones (real showman) The worst one by a mile was Daniel O'Donnell, we had more aggro at that than any other concert I can recall. Alastair
The best concert I saw was Gong live in Hyde Park, along with Nico, Kevin Ayers and John Cale doing a Velvet Underground revival. It was a sunny day, it was free and it all just came together.
