Albert smith
Bell End is is a road in Rowley Regis in the West Midlands where there has been a petition set up to persuade the Council not to change the roads ancient name . It was named Bell End because it was the site of King John's hunting lodge who it seems was a bit of a lad in the area in the middle ages. Some residents have complained that people start laughing when they declare The address while others love their unusual street name. I wonder if their is any comparable Street names in South York's ,names that make folk have giggle when residents mention the name.

drolnhoj
The Moderators will be having palpitations with that little list of profanities and double entendres You can't imagine how many times I had to edit that post before I got an acceptable version of one of the streets, but if you search for Sheffield's funniest street names the Star comes up with many more. ? lazarus
Carsick Lane just means boggy wet ground, what's funny about that? It's people's minds not the places that are rude, there's a c*** Lane in London, in the 19th century that word was part of the modern day parlance, snooty people who decided they were better and more cultured than poor people decided that c word was naughty and obscene. Thanks for letting us know what is funny and what isn't. It makes life so much easier to have somebody deciding that for us.
