geared
Probably catch bar lane Asda, it's abit of a crap store really. More suited to the Netto type store it used to be.
Lockdoctor
It sounds more like a Sainsbury's takeover than a merger. Walmart are effectively pulling out of the UK.
Guest
Apparently the Sainsbury's CEO, in an unguarded moment between interviews was recorded singing "Were In The Money" to himself.
Pyrotequila
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2018/apr/30/sainsburys-mike-coupe-sings-were-in-the-money-itv-asda-merger The chief executive of Sainsbury’s has been filmed singing “We’re in the Money” on the same day he announced a blockbuster merger with Asda. Waiting to be interviewed by ITV, Mike Coupe started warbling one of the best-known songs from the musical 42nd Street. In the clip released by the broadcaster, he is shown singing: “We’re in the money, the sky is sunny. Let’s lend it, spend it, send it rolling along.” Yeah.....sure! More like "We're in the mood to screw over our staff and the public"

More like "We're in the mood to screw over our staff and the public" The experts seem to think it is some suppliers, who are most at risk of being screwed. The Joker
Sainsbury’s is rubbish. Just like Rover cars a decade or two ago, Sainsbury’s make a pathetic attempt to appeal to the middle-classes not by expanding their range of products and improving their stores to attract that type of shopper, like waitrose did, but by simply jacking up their prices by a huge margin over other suppliers And Sainsbury’s supply-chain problems mean their shelves are empty of key products for days, if not weeks on end. The Asda superstore at Parson Cross, and the Handsworth megastore, do things the right way - massive choice, and bargain pricing. It’s not rocket science. gregnig
Cannot understand how the boss said both companies would remain separate from one another without any changes. His further statement said prices would be 10% cheaper as a result of the merger. This doesn't make sense.

You're quite dependent on your combined sales to Asda and Sainsbury aren't you? Great. Find a way to drop your prices by 10%."
