I’m not calling Jonny5 a racist or accusing him of anything. I made a comment to demonstrate the ridiculousness of attacking the word gammon as racist.

 

why the mention of numerals in the username ( obviously referring to you ) ? then the accusation of racism ? Are you trying (poorly) to be ironic ? Why am I being desperate ?

The vast majority of the posts on this thread defending the use of the word gammon to insult a group of people are incoherent, ill-thought out and poorly worded.

Because Jonny5 has a numeral in his username too, and he was beating up on me a bit. You can’t be any more racist over a numeral than you can by somebody getting flushed because they are angry. Ends there.

 

It was light hearted. A bit abstract maybe. But certainly no accusations on my part.

You so desperately want to imagine this as socialists labelling the whole white middle aged population of places like Mansfield or Hartlepool as gammons. But nobody has ever even said that, or anything remotely like it.

I've been informed in this thread that this small subset concerns "middle aged white men" specifically. Since this discrimination is based on skin colour (or ethnicity, to be precise) it sounds pretty racist, by definition

So, according to your warped logic, its not even a group of people you are comparing to a dead pig? A subset is still part of a larger group. The larger group is all white people. The subset to which you refer, but refuse to acknowledge as being any sort of group, is specifically middle-aged white males.
