Over 30 clubs in the world rankings above them didnt qualify for this event. ---------- Post added 15-06-2018 at 08:17 ---------- Going up to 48 teams by 2026 - I assume a round of 32 then a round of 16 ? No. Group stage, 16 x 3 teams. Top two qualify for the Last 32, so still 7 matches needed to win the title, but 16 more games overall. Still will take the same amount of time to play though. SpiderPete Posted June 15, 2018 Share Posted June 15, 2018 Only saw the 2nd half of Russia vs Saudi Arabia and must say SA were pathetic, their goal keeper was abysmal the only reason Russia won so easy is their opponents made them look good, will be a different task when playing Egypt and Uruguay.
