Network Rail timetable changes

Recommended Posts

That Chris Grayling would be out of his job by Tuesday. I know there's three hours left but I think he'll make it through today.

Perhaps, but the rest of the post was correct?

The minister of state isn't directly hands on with the day to day running of the railway. I wouldn't be surprised if this current difficulty as a result of timetable changes is down to the cantankerous, set-in-their-ways drivers that don't want to change their routine.

They have just announced more strike days, is that what you mean, workers are always cantankerous when in dispute?

As already stated, the changes to the timetable were four times bigger than normal. Its not rocket science when the workers are also in dispute.

Maybe he and the train bosses dont have a clue what goes on, on the railways?

It does not make any difference, who is to blame, its a shambolic public service.

"These delays meant electric trains were not running on these lines when the timetable overhaul happened."

The Government decide which trains are used, they have messed up, big time.

If the press knew in January that the line wasn't going to electric before the end of 2018, why didn't Northern Rail?

Interesting that people are trying to blame the Government for this mess instead of the private operator yet seem to be the same people calling for nationalisation of the railways. What makes you think that the Government you are blaming for the failure will suddenly be experts at running the railways?

I am not a leftie that wants 100% privatisation, I believe in a mix of both.

It takes a long time/money to plan and train for electrification, so I guess they all knew. But it has been shown that when train operators cannot make huge profits, the train companies can do as they please and just hand back the franchise.
