I thought the role was supposed to be politically neutral, but he saves to make blatant statements that are pro-labour and anti-tory. Even though I agree with him on many things, if it is really a non-political role it seems to be the position is being abused to push his political views. Which is all well and good, until we get a far right nutter which I don't agree with in the role.... Does someone know for sure if the role is supposed to be non-partisan? Unless there are actual rules, checks on those rules, and consequences for breaking them; it matters not one jot what a role is supposed to be. The only reference I can find is this: https://www.thestar.co.uk/news/your-say/he-may-not-survive-his-year-in-office-1-9275373 nothing on wikipedia or SCC about any rules. So perhaps the neutrality is more a tradition, or just not the case and writers to the star are mistaken. If there were a rule, it would be odd because I don't see how he could perform his role as a green councillor in a politically neutral way. I’m not being contentious, as I’ve been branded a Tory just because I don’t support Corbyn, a Trump supporter because I disagreed with you and one of the favoured rich because I draw my deserved state pension and a small private pension. I aim to vote Lib Dem in an attempt to keep Labour out of Hallam, I’m not proud to be a tactical voter, but needs must when the devil rides. I await your reply with interest.
