Not all Americans go cruising from State to State, despite what is seen in movies etc. Folks who smoke it up will be quite happy enjoying their joints in their hometown without harassment from the cops.

 

I didn't suggest they did only pointing out that that despite it being legal in certain states in the USA it is still remains a federal crime. The police in those states will not cause problems as they are employed by the state but the FBI still can as they work for the government.

Take a look around and see how many betting shops there are. I googled at least 4 in Fitzalan Square alone. Well, prior to 1961 they were illegal and betting was done underground. When they became legal the bookies had to pay taxes which in part went back into horse racing, increasing prize money . In other words, everybody won. It is the same with all prohibited or illegal things that people want. You make prostitution legal ( controlled areas) you cut out the pimps and the crime and get revenue, same with cannabis, legalise it and the dealers are done and crime figures drop. etc. etc. The American experiment of banning booze backfired big time in the 1920s, It created organized crime and triggered the worst depression in modern history.
