Calahonda
Even if they are wealthy and have been driving on private roads/land, I’d have thought that some sort of test would be a good idea.

Calahonda
What makes you think that they haven't been tested? As it is only legal for them to drive on the roads from today, where would they have been tested to ensure that they were fit to drive on the roads? Anywhere in the world that gives licences acceptable to the Saudi authorities. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/saudi-arabia-women-driving-licences-ban-lifted-date-24-june-a8384196.html There has never been a Saudi law banning women from driving on Saudi roads. It was just made impossible for them to get a license. Edited June 24, 2018 by cgksheff

blake
Anywhere in the world that gives licences acceptable to the Saudi authorities. in the UK somebody can use a foreign driving license for up to 12 months even when it's a 3rd world basket case kind of country where you don't have to take a driving test or anything to get a license, but just turn up at the transportation office, fill in a form, and just give them about 10 quid in local currency. You needn't have driven a motor vehicle even once in your entire life, but if you bring that license to the UK you can drive with it for up to one year. I did a test in Saudi back in the 70.s mind you, reversing was between 2 oil drums, you were allowed to hit one, don't if it has changed but that is true
blake
Apparently in Ireland once there was a really long backlog, for the driving test. People were having to wait years to take it. So they decided to permit people who had taken the test before, to drive. But if you had only failed the driving test once, that wasn't enough. You had to have failed it at least twice, to be entitled to drive.
