diksey
I went to Marcliffe Juniors, started 1956. After a year or two some of us were sent up to what was known as the annexe. This was next to Wadsley Church, it was like a church hall / chapel, there were just two classrooms separated by some large folding doors. The toilets were outside across the yard, there was a long wooden building that ran down the far side of the playground, we used to draw our cricket stumps in chalk on the side of it. I remember one of the teachers was called Mrs Bennett, she had a Morris Minor, the Headmistress called Mrs Briggs used to come up from the main school, she was a bit of a dragon as I remember.
