I keep hearing how after brexit, certain brextremists say we will have cheaper food, how cheap do we want it? how cheap can it go?

according to

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-45559594

The food consumed in the UK is also the cheapest in Western Europe - costing 8% less than the EU average, according to EU statistical body Eurostat

is it really feasible it can go any lower?

Jeremy Hunt is being criticised for comparing the EU to the former Soviet Union.

The remark was made in his speech today at the Conservative Party conference.

What a stupid tactless comment.

Has this political correctness madness got so bad you cant mention dodgy regimes from the past ?

Of course you can you silly goose, you just can't compare with anything just to make point. It's like me comparing you with jimmy savile because you're both northern, male and likes a smoke. Neither comparison would be very fair.

Mainstream politicians were never upfront and honest about the EU project and its end game, they were quite coy about the fact that it was to gradually become a single superstate.

This the one truth that was hardly mentioned by either side and was THE reason I voted out.

We could have vetoed that obviously (unless you don't trust our politicians, or the ones from France Germany etc) but what would have been so bad about it? (Even though I don't think it's likely to happen.)
