The Consequences of Brexit [part 5] Read 1st post before posting

It's not cobblers. There are eu ukeaine cooperation and fta deals. In a country that was struggling with stability and its relationship with moscow, the rapidly growing affair with the eu escalted problems. Obviously Russia is ultimately responsible as the aggressor, but the eu rocked the boat.

tinfoilhat is right, it is cobblers!

The Ukraine is a sovereign nation and as such, has every right to form alliances and trade agreements with whoever it choses. If it chooses EU democracy over Putin's plutocracy it's tough titty. No nation should be afraid to make decisions because of the threat of military aggression. :suspect:

Labour will vote against any kind of deal.

That will immediately fall foul of their 6 tests for Brexit and their manifesto pledges while alienating the majority of labour voters.

It would also place them in political jeopardy since no-deal will be political suicide.

Labour will go for customs union membership, if not SM in the end.

This will force the Tories to trigger a general election. Corbyn will win and without the baneful influence of the super capitalist EU can begin a long overdue restructuring of society.

Won't have the money to do it, that Brexit dividend turned out to be the opposite.

For the benefit of the many, not the few.

A nice slogan, and I'd like to believe it, but Corbyn won't do it by leaving the EU.

So, if I'm reading right, a free trade agreement with a independent country neighbouring Russia rattled Putin to point he sent the tanks in. And that makes it the EUs fault?

Except, you've missed the words I wrote in the post you quoted where I said 'obviously Russia is ultimately responsible as the aggressor'

Yes, but maybe do your own research on the timeline of what happened, and international diplomacy. Call it cobblers if you will, but the results are there to see.

Perhaps its time to get behind the PM and back the deal. It’s a horror show for sure, but one important fact is that it buys breathing space. Sign the deal and we get an extendable transition which allows for 2 or more years to improve the deal and also for a return.

Against all the odds she has come up with something that could please all sides just a little. That in itself shows the difficulty of the situation.

Either back it or it’s got to be up to the people to decide.

Brexiters have to accept that it’s this or all your work is going to be destroyed. Back it or you will be destroyed in the next election

Absolutely not. The deal is one that pleases nobody whatsoever. The DUP will not support it and all the MPs of the ERG will not vote for it. So what majoroty will the PM have to vote this through?

A vote of no confidence is coming and the only way she can dodge this cannonball is for a People's Vote because the only alternative is a GE. There will be so many amendments attached to this vote, it will be hilarious.

Dont be daft. The possibility of a Peoples Vote is just that, a possibility, but highly improbable as parliament will not allow the public to dictate to them what to do. A GE solves nothing either as the time will shortly be up.
