But only a minority of the UK population voted to leave

An even smaller minority voted Remain!

Regardless of the silly stat game, my reply was to your 'tiny handful' comment. A significant number of people don't like the power and increasing influence and style of the eu.

That has been ignored for years, resulting in a vote Leave. Also, of more imporfance is an attitude of ignoring a significant proportion of the country with derisory metaphores. It hasn't worked and if Brexit fails to happen , it will lead to  a deepining disillusionment with mainsteam politics, which is something that we need to be very wary of.

A large number of people think that. You can either listen and consider it, or call it rubbish. Calling it rubbish and ignoring what people were saying, as Cameron did and his predecessors, resulted in a Leave vote.

A large number of people believe that they have been abducted by aliens, a large number of people believe that the 9/11 attacks were carried out by the US government, a large number of people believe the moon landings were fake.

Just because we now seem to be living in a post-Brexit, post-Trump, post-truth fake news world, doesn't suddenly give crank conspiracy theories a credibility they didn't have before.

They were evidence-free, paranoid nonsense then and they are still evidence-free paranoid rubbish now.

Conservative and Labour

I dont think they did as a party manifesto is made by a political party prior to a GE and not a referendum.

Nope, there is the thing called the Peoples Vote.

The Peoples Vote is just a proposed idea that also goes against our democratic political system of elected representation and one of the reasons it will not come to fruition.

Once again, the population aren't demanding a democratic vote as the population cant.

??? Wrong!

We can demand anything we want - whether we get it or not is down to the democratic conscience of the government.

Which I have to admit means it won't happen as Mrs May seems to have the ethics and morals of a dictator.

But you said the majority of the population were demanding a vote. What I am pointing out is the very fact that the majority of the population cant as children, babies, non native UK residents, many prisoners and others are exempt from the democratic process as you very well know. IIRC you also are not allowed a vote either, but demand away...

The examples you give are believed by a tiny proportion of people. Disillusionment with the eu resulted in a vote Leave. Remain was only suppirted by 35% of the electorate.

Equating anti-eu feeling and moon landing conspiricies is exactly the type of atittude that people are fed up of. If people in the main.parties do what you do, it will not turn out well for them. Things need to change.
