We only export 30.5% of our GDP. https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NE.EXP.GNFS.ZS

Car Boot
If our export market to the EU is only valued at between 12 - 15 per cent of UK annual GDP according to the ONS, why will we face economic oblivion if we Leave? Answer: We won't. In the long term it will scarcely register as a blip on our economic performance. The benefits of our EU membership have been massively exaggerated. A percentage of our exports to the EU that is declining, and exports to other countries are increasing at a much faster rate.

Percentages are pretty meaningless. Did our exports to Benin go up 200% whilst exports to the EU decline by 1%. You may wish to flesh out your assertion but you will not get away from the fact that our trade with the EU ,both imports and exports,is of primary importance and anything that creates delays, increases our import costs, increases our export costs is damaging to our economy, and damaging to the interests of U.K. workers

That means that we imported more than 13.4% of the value of "ALL the goods and services produced in the UK in 2017, according to ONS". I don't know - it's all here for 2018 - maybe someone could make a graph? https://www.ons.gov.uk/file?uri=/economy/nationalaccounts/balanceofpayments/datasets/9geographicalbreakdownofthecurrentaccountthepinkbook2016/thepinkbook2018/pinkbook2018chapter9.xls

How long will it take multinational pharmaceutical companies to switch first licensing, then production to another EU country in case of no deal? What would the consequence be for the UK? Inward investment into the UK in the first half of 2018 was the second highest in the world after China - and ahead of even the US and Germany. The benefits of our EU membership have been massively exaggerated.
