truman
No under age drinkers now. It was a rhetorical/sarcastic quote...there are loads and that wouldn't change with a change in the law..

Obelix
Im not trolling if your gonna talk daft going on about the age of 5 you will get a daft remark from me. Who drinks booze at 5. Do you deny that people can drink at the age of five legally in the UK? Are you unaware that many people do drink - perhaps watered wine not full strength - from a young age in the UK, especially if the parents are of French or Italian origins? ---------- Post added 05-07-2018 at 15:20 ---------- Ok right. If this country got a grip and made it ilegal to drink under 21 there would be a lot less drama on our streets on a night time. Infact ban it all together. Because the Volstead Act in the USA did so much to to prevent alcohol related violence didn't it? Raise the drinking age to 21 and the first thing that will happen is mad binge drinking and violence from 21 and a night out old adults.... Annie Bynnol
The Government prevents people aged 16-18 from accessing work, training and education which they require them to do. The Local Authority/Government provides transport for children aged 4-16 to access education when their journey is over a certain distance. Children who are over 16 do not. If 16-18 year olds have the "get up and go" attitude to find good work, education, training or apprenticeships they should have the opportunity to have a restricted or full licence. The Government rules are particularly hard for those in rural areas where there is no reasonable public transport. No Government should not be allowed to prevent or discriminate against young people because of where they live.

I fail to see why a motivated young adult at that age cannot have it in the circumstances you suggest...
