Ontarian1981
That bunch if scumbags Islamic State are now claiming responsibility for the mass shootings last weekend in Toronto's east end which killed an18yo woman and a 10 yo girl and left 13 wounded. The gunman was also shot and killed but not clear if self-inflicted or done by the police yet. The killer was of Middle East descent and wore all black, but his family say he had a lifelong severe mental illness. It is just like that wicked organisation to want this one added to their list, and who knows they be right. But it's took them over 4 days to claim it, and no links to terrorism have been found yet Edited July 25, 2018 by Ontarian1981
El Cid
Police searched the apartment that Hussain shared with his parents and siblings, removing boxes of potential evidence on Tuesday. It is not known where he got the gun he used in the shooting - it is illegal in Canada to possess an unregistered handgun or any kind of rapid-fire weapon. Trouble is we share a 3000mile undefended border with the US and guns are readily availlable if you know who to ask. There are shootings in The Greater Toronto Area quite often but are usually gang related or a domestic incident. Mass shootings are not common at all There was one at a house party where 5 got killed including a couple of kids in a crossfire, a few years ago but that also was a drug-related turf war. dutch
I used to live around the corner where that shooting happened. Police carry guns there. Considering how big Toronto is gun crime was not bad when I was there.

However, there is usually one or two drug/gang related shootings most weekends. Most are North and East of the City, not much regular gun crime in the downtown area except the odd isolated one like the one at the Eaton Centre a few years back, and that was a gang related revenge killing that got a few innocent bystanders too. dutch
I left that place long time ago. Nothing to do with guns. That place grown too big too quick it doesn't have character.
