Can any of you older posters remember this.."goin for a walk round lump"...i said it the other day and my grandson said "what"!!!!!...:)

Is it just a Sheffield saying?

It may be. We used to say it in Sheffield when I lived there (I was born there) but I've never heard it in the thirty years since I lived 'dahn sarf, mate!'

My old mam used to say 'just go for a walk 'round t' lump while I go in this shop'...

I don't know my little lads like playing out and destoying my garden!!

I had to climb up a tree because the eldest had got his under brother wedged in it! Happy days eh!

We were always out when we we're kids, we we're either playing with slop dosh or making rose perfume with rose petals we pinched off my nans garden! Then trying to sell the rancid stuff for 5p

Good to hear some kids are still kids then! :)

When I was a kid in Sheffield we went all over playing with just sticks and stones and whatever else we could find. Came back filthy of course with holes in all our clothes, cuts, grazes, etc! But smiling through the dirt mostly!
