Business costs?

Recommended Posts

Small businesses get 100% discount, surely that helps a large proportion of sole traders?

You said small businesses get 100% discount hence my reply that only those with a rateable value under £12k get 100% discount.

Well yes.

A quick Google of business rates in my area shows more than 50% of small town center shops less than the £15,000 rateable value and will qualify for a discount; more will qualify in small towns and fewer in cities.

To focus on the question and not business rates, they also have;

Accountancy fees

Insurance costs

Staff Costs - if they hire anyone

Running Costs (electrical, water, etc) - if they have premises

Materials costs - if they have to buy anything

Rent - if they rent a property
