cgksheff
I would have thought there would be surveillance cameras that cover all of the ship this day and age. There were. It was by replaying the cctv that the ship knew the location of her disembarkation. Hence the success of the searchers.
melthebell
who would pre-plan a very dangerous stunt like that? she was lucky the impact of the fall didnt kill her never mind drowning, only someone deranged or drunk would do that . or a right wing conspiracy theorist like lockdoctor would think up such a "plan"

blake
A woman who survived ten hours in the Adriatic after falling from a cruise liner is said to have had a row with her partner after drinking all day. it'd be a right good story if it turns out he chucked her off. Cyclone
that's their maximum speed. They don't usually go as fast as that. They do go a lot faster than you can possibly swim though. Not to mention that you'll exhaust yourself very quickly by swimming and will no longer be in the same place you fell!

Advice is always to tread water to conserve energy and stay where you fell in, as that is the first place to be searched.

ANGELFIRE1
Oh dear, according to some fellow cruise lovers, she had argued with her boyfriend every day, been on the ale every day and allegedly finally flung herself off the back of the ship, as the railings are too high to simply fall over. Don't know if these stories are legitimate as I was not there, but if they are half true this lady should face an investigation of some kind.
