Stumperlowe Mansions Fulwood

Recommended Posts

I lived very near Stumperlowe Mansions in my childhood and even had a paper round that covered them. My recollection of them goes back to the mid 60's and as far as I am aware they have always been flats. I'm interested in why you asked the question though.

My mother and father met at Stumperlowe Mansions in 1938. He was the head porter and she was an assistant cook. According to my late mother, the flats were built by Ellis Pearson and furnished by Cole Brothers. They were luxury flats one of which was occupied by the American consul. There was a restaurant on the site for the residents.

yes- I have lived at the 'mansions' since 2004 and been to most of the flats! The community here is superb, everyone gneuinely knows each other and looks out for one another.

A very unique place- with a great atmosphere!
