Cyclone
I had an extended walk around Darnall and Attercliffe yesterday evening, from about 1900 until 2130, didn't feel unsafe at any point, did get a bit lost by the canal and have to backtrack at one point though. lil-minx92
I feel safe in Sheffield. Im fairly certain that 99% of the victims of gun and knife crime (which has no doubt increased in Sheffield and every other major city) are people involved at some level in crime themselves. As I don't associate with these people I don't expect to get shot or stabbed anytime soon. In fact getting shot or stabbed is at the bottom of my 'fear list'. Getting burgled is probably my main concern although to date I havent been.
glennpickard
The person who got mugged in Manchester, but believes that city is safer than Sheffield, reminds me of John Lennon, who said he "Wanted to move to New York as I feel safer there than England." Ontarian1981
The person who got mugged in Manchester, but believes that city is safer than Sheffield, reminds me of John Lennon, who said he "Wanted to move to New York as I feel safer there than England." That's hilarious but tragic. In reality though, John wouldn't leave the States because he knew he would never get back in because of his drug conviction. alchresearch
The question "Do you feel safe in Sheffield?" is flawed. City centre daytime - yes. Various suburbs - yes. West Street at 2am - no. Any of the estates like Parson Cross - no.
bassett one
sheffield is pretty safe, all this knifing and shooting is normally gang/drug related, the police need to sort it out, before we end up like london
Padders
I feel perfectly safe in Sheffield, I carry a big knife just in case.
80peter
To be honest everywhere is the same now with regards to Sheffield I don't think it's any worse than other cities of similar size or better. London will always be worse simply down to the fact it's the capital city of the UK.
Guest busdriver1
So you feel safer in a place where you got mugged than in a place where you've not been mugged? YES because when I was mugged I was not subject to a gun being pushed in my face. Give me a beating any day over that.
hauxwell
I feel perfectly safe in Sheffield, I carry a big knife just in case. What’s that saying. If you can’t beat them, join them. ---------- Post added 14-09-2018 at 20:37 ---------- YES because when I was mugged I was not subject to a gun being pushed in my face. Give me a beating any day over that. You must have had some sort of bad experience in Sheffield, involving a gun I suspect.
