logan.m.p
The wife and I are out in Sheffield most weeks, and sometimes till the early hours. I have to say we've never once felt threatened or felt unsafe, on the streets, or in any of the pubs/clubs we go into. We've been doing this for the last 38 years. Sheffield is home and always will be. Edited August 31, 2018 by logan.m.p
pss60
Brighton and Hove, with Southampton and Cambridge? What happened to proper cities like Glasgow, Newcastle, Hull & Portsmouth? Wonder where Sheffield would figure if these were included. And why no Welsh representation, such as Cardiff & Swansea? Pointless survey. They may well have been represented, as might Leeds, Liverpool and Nottingham, but didn't come in the top five or bottom five.

dutch
Sheffield is very green, has more natural unmaintained large bushy foresty wilderniss inside the city. Personally I kind of like that but many people will be frightened by that. Old abandoned brick buildings, factaries buildings, abandoned areas. Spooky, very different from other cities I lived in. It will some feel unsafe, depends on what you want
Solitaire
I feel perfectly safe in Sheffield. There again I feel safe anywhere: I really don't think that anyone's out to get me.

Hogg
Sheffield feels very safe to me. New I live in the posh bit but I spent many years living in Burngreave and never had any bother. The only place I have lived where I felt a bit unsafe was in Brixton before it got gentrified.
