How would most of the moaners about the weather have gone on in 1976 when we had this kind of heat going on 6 to 7 weeks. O.K it was a degree C cooler but who can tell that difference. It has only been warm for a day or three.

Hmmm...

And, as if more proof was needed that some people may be overreacting just a little bit to a few days of summer weather...

... zoo keepers are now hosing down animals to keep them cool!

Now I'm no expert in zoological matters, and I can quite understand the odd tree penguin feeling a bit hot under the collar, but...

... maybe someone should inform these 'experts' that most of the animals they appear to be hosing down are normally quite happy roaming around wild in Africa, and probably wouldn't be too annoyed if they never experienced the joys of sucking on an iced veggie lolly!

I'm sure the experts know more than you and me but also take into account that, in Africa, poachers are killing them in large numbers.

In India, some of them are treated with extreme cruelty.

That's not happening in our wildlife parks.

Now you're just being silly!

'Experts' are no more in danger from poachers in Africa or India than they are in the Yorkshire Wildlife Park...

These animals roam a vast range in the wild, seeking out water holes, rivers and mud holes to wallow in order to  cool themselves...

...it's really not rocket science why a captive animal needs a good hosing down when the weather gets hot.

Too complex for some... obviously :?

So, maybe one of the 'forum experts' could explain to the rest of us...

... where do these animals shop in the wild to get their iced veggie lollies?

Maybe, just maybe,

They would stock up on Iced Veggie LOL-lipops, at their local Sundae School.

With the greatest respect, Mr Padders...

... I've never thought of you as one of the 'forum experts'.

You'll probably be very happy to hear that my opinion hasn't changed... :hihi:

What a load of nonsense. Totally incorrect.

I’ve just done a quick Google and it tells me that they get them from their local Polar Bar.
