They were happy to shut down capitalism, schools, invoke draconian human rights and impose censorship of Free Speech on all dissenting opinions. Most know that after the initial setting of a fire, a continuous supply of combustible material is needed. The vast majority of these fire burn out naturally or are put out easily due to the lack of combustible material The weather around the Med has made more of this materials combustible and created 'firestorms' which are proving more difficult to put out permanently. The continuing weather around the Med has provided no respite or opportunity to get ahead of the fires. If these record weather patterns become the norm then these types of intense long lasting fire will become the norm and as a result will have to be dealt with, no matter how they, or what changing weather patterns are called or if the fire fighters are left or right or the cost. That said, travel bans achieved sod all, other than in NZ at the time (though they have rather paid for it since). 15 minutes ago, Annie Bynnol said: Most know that after the initial setting of a fire, a continuous supply of combustible material is needed. Exactly what some of us predicted after the Tories poor election results. He's actually on the side of more votes. He's quite happy about throwing his closely held beliefs out of the window if it will gain him a few more votes. No principles as always. If they can hang on for another 12 months they will have set Labour up to fail. Trouble is you have to fight fire with fire but Labour does not play dirty so is always going to be at a disadvantage. Labour will have an awful lot to put right, and a lot of it will not be popular. Conservatives will promise the earth: (Levelling up?) but not deliver.
