Quote Chekhov,    without all the junk evidence:

It appears it might pass if all the lighting was swapped for "low energy" types. But, in the case of a rental property, that's surely down to the tenant to buy and/or replace the bulbs with LED types ? ! ?

That's what I said at first,  it's all about getting you off the hook with any costs.

You are just one in a country full of people,  and we will all have to do the same but, there's only you complaining  ( as always )

.

Complaining  about government is a healthy form of legal free speech in a democracy.

Why it outrages some folks, is a mystery to me.

When expressed on a proper public forum, and not say, like many of our Leftist friends who prefer more militant methods to vent their rants against society, such as rioting, looting, vandalizing, blocking traffic and such.

But that's life!  :)

Yes, at least twice.

Read it again!

Or ask it again!  :)

(In the correct Forum, of course!)

Do you mean those famously rioting "Leftist friends" who rioted and looted the Capito for Trump?

Do you mean those famously road blocking "Leftist friends"in Toronto?

Them too, Annie. :)

But rent a mobs comprise many organized provocateurs. who have their own nefarious reasons for encouraging civil disorder.

It is wise to differentiate between those who are protesting extreme mandates that threaten their ability to work, or obviously "rigged" elections, and those that see it as an a free pass, to loot, burn and destroy their cities, and ransack and terrorize their own neighborhood Mom and Pop shops.

The sheer scale of the violence, and threat to public safety must be part of any comparisons made.

The Jan 6 matter is still being adjudicated, and those who broke the law should pay the price.

But justice should be blind, and duly constituted laws should not be selectively enforced is some instances, and excused in others.

The results  of the 2 years of BLM destruction in some 200 cities across America, will be felt for a long time, by society.

WIKI

"Following the murder of George Floyd, unrest broke out in the Minneapolis–Saint Paul area on May 26, 2020, and quickly spread across the country and the world. Further unrest quickly spread throughout the United States, sometimes including rioting, looting, and arson. By early June, at least 200 American cities had imposed curfews, while more than 30 states and Washington, D.C, had activated over 62,000 National Guard personnel into unrest.[4][5][6] By the end of June, at least 14,000 people had been arrested at protests.[7][8][9]

Polls have estimated that between 15 million and 26 million people have participated at some point in the demonstrations in the United States, making them the largest protests in United States history.[10][11][12] It was also estimated that between May 26 and August 22, around 93% of protests were "peaceful and nondestructive".[13][14][15] However, arson, vandalism, and looting during the George Floyd protests alone caused approximately $1–2 billion in damages nationally, the highest recorded damage from civil disorder in U.S. history, and surpassing the record set during the 1992 Los Angeles riots.[16][17]

In two words("Them too...") you recognise that the "Leftist friends" have their equivalent 'Rightist friends' who prefer more militant methods to vent their rants against society, such as murder, assault, rioting, looting, blocking traffic and such.

In 325 words you then waffle on about  protests concerning American social issues and politics.

They're your labels, not mine!

I have no time to parse THAT rabbit hole! :)

So feel free to define them according to whatever suits your own particular purpose, or should I say, manifesto.

(Like you do with "foreigner") :)

You introduced the label  "Leftist friends" to this forum and used in in the context of 'climate change' protests.

You then equate "Leftist friends" with "...rioting, looting, vandalizing, blocking traffic...", something 'Rightist friends' are equally capable of.

Equating 'climate activists' with 'leftists' shows an ignorance  of British politics, equating 'climate activists' with rioting, looting, vandalizing, blocking traffic is is just a political smear as is the pointless and unrelated 300 word Trump and BLM waffle.

Which 'obviously "rigged" elections' were they then?

Almost exclusively, violent street riots and protests, looting arson and destruction, are the political tools of the Left, not the Right.

If you've missed the news for the last 50 years, or so, this may refresh your memory.

Now. i'm sure you can echo the tortured rational of your fellow travelers, to try to 'splain, rationalise, or otherwise deny and excuse that fact, but we've heard it all before!  :)
