Not the gulf stream, but the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation. which is similar to, but isn't, the gulf stream. but journalists love a headline.... (and then people blame 'scientists') here's what the scientists said : "The new study, published in Nature Communications, used sea surface temperature data stretching back to 1870 as a way of assessing the change in strength of Amoc currents over time. It estimates Amoc could collapse between 2025 and 2095" ___ Journalists see the most exciting number, and there's a headline! harvey19
Life will go on as it always has. All this talk gives some people something to worry about and a cause to follow. New scientific theories are regular events. Enjoy life.

It will change ocean temperatures and also air temperatures resulting in far more extremes of weather.

Some worry and some don't give tuppence as always so, if you're a bit laid back that's fine and no law says you've got to worry. If the world's populations are too laid back though, nature will give them a rude awakening. Again, ask them in Rhodes. Life's brilliant on this beautiful planet so we should definitely enjoy it, and care for it.

We can all do what we can, and small things will add up, so don't think it doesn't matter. But it annoys me that governments seem to be getting it wrong. They are the only ones who can effectively tackle the big things and especially the big companies, the biggest polluters of the lot.
